Jay L. Miller


Jay Miller, a native of the Tampa Bay area, amassed 20 years of international real estate experience before returning to focus on opportunities in West Central Florida in 1999. Miller is President of J Square Developers in St. Petersburg. Since 2008, J Square has developed two well-known retail centers on St. Petersburg’s 4th Street North corridor—conversion of a historic auto dealership to a contemporary 7300 square foot retail center at 1535-75 4th, and the recently completed Trader Joe’s-Vitamin Shoppe center on 4th Street North.

During his career in the shopping center industry, Miller has developed, expanded or re-developed over 1.0 million square feet of retail and mixed use projects including such well known projects as CocoWalk and the Streets of Mayfair in Miami, Centro Ybor and Southshore Commons in Tampa, and the Greene Town Center in Dayton, Ohio, along with several smaller projects.

Mr. Miller received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan and Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from the John F. Kennedy School at Harvard University. He is a Florida licensed real estate broker and a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. He lives in St. Petersburg with his wife Jan and two daughters.
