UNITE Pinellas is a collective of county leaders from all sectors and walks of life, supported by the Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg, United Way Suncoast and Juvenile Welfare Board. Please join them for a morning of compelling and informative presentations and the release of the 2019 Pinellas Equity Profile. This is the first countywide assessment of economic and quality-of-life measures through an equity lens. It’s a powerful information tool to help fuel the growing local movement for equitable economic development. The Pinellas Equity Profile was developed by PolicyLink, a national leader in equity research.
UNITE Pinellas hopes that by increasing the awareness of local dynamics and conditions and exposing the root causes that underlie disparities, our community can develop the capacity to influence changes in policy, practice and the traditional narrative. The success in impacting systems relies on the wisdom and co-creation of people most impacted by the policies, practices and “blame narratives” that perpetuate inequity, particularly for low-income residents and people of color. This goal will drive who and how decisions are made.
Join us for a review of the highlights of the report and a discussion of strategies that can help communities achieve equitable and inclusive economic prosperity.
