Foundation Announces Robert M. Kropp, MD, to Join Board of Directors of Bayfront HMA Healthcare Holdings LLC

The Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert M. Kropp, MD, MBA, CPHI, to the board of directors of Bayfront HMA Healthcare Holdings LLC, a joint venture that owns Bayfront HMA Medical Center LLC, which operates Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.

In this role, Dr. Kropp will take the place of Foundation President and CEO Randall H. Russell as one of the four designated directors appointed by FHSP Holdings LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg, to serve on the eight-member board of directors of Bayfront HMA Healthcare Holdings.

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Kropp, one of the region’s most experienced hospital executives, to this position,” said President and CEO Randall H. Russell.

Dr. Kropp is a double-board certified physician executive and healthcare informaticist with 12 years of clinical experience and 20 years of managed care experience including 15 in senior leadership and operational roles. Dr. Kropp has a record of success blending medical and business experience with expertise in clinical and claims data, information technology, leadership, education and communications.

Dr. Kropp currently has a national consulting practice in clinical informatics. His distinguished career includes serving as vice president, clinical transformation at Aetna Accountable Care Solutions, as southeast regional medical director at Aetna, chief medical officers at CIGNA Healthcare of Florida, and chair of the department of neurology at All Children’s Hospital. He holds a certificate in Public Health Informatics from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, an MD from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the University of South Florida.

In addition to Dr. Kropp, the three additional board of directors of Bayfront HMA Healthcare Holdings LLC appointed by FHSP Holdings LLC are Edward Wilhoite, Sharon Gardner and Arnie Stenberg.
